Biography for Caliba

In an industry filled with worn down repetitive formulas, an artist willing to setp out of the mainstrean and take over is bound to cause a revolution. CALIBA possesses the creative lyrical genius to inevitably orchestrate a new era in Hip Hop, carrying it to heights unseen.

The fifth child of eight, CALIBA was born Lamar Taylor in Los Angeles and grew up hopping around from Miami, FL to Griffiin, GA; from Newport News, VA to Colorado Springs, CO. Friends were a luxury Lamar could not afford, but amidst the gypsy like solitued he gained a friend that changed his life: Hip Hop.

From the tender age of twelve, writing and performing suddenly became second nautre to the young artist. He released his first album with a group called 719 giving rise to a huge Midwest underground buzz. A few years later CALIBA released a maxi single under the name Smoove-N-Scorpio, gaining the attention of Giant Records, but still he felt like the truthful expressions within were not coming out.

When CALIBA returned to Miami and released the ground-breaking solo single "Break It Down", the legendary Miami Disc Jockey Uncle Al immedieatley took notice of his talent. Unfortunately Uncle Al's plans to propel CALIBA's career were cut short by his untimely demise. To date CALIBA has released three albums with a fourth to be released on June 4, 2011. He has also toured and promoted his music independently as a founder of Tha Union Entertainment.

In returning to Colorado Springs, his goal is to be part of the movement currently rising in the 719 market.

CALIBA has been ready for the industry...but is the industry ready for him?????
